Over 30 Years of Custom Electronic Manufacturing Expertise

Meet The Leadership Team

Jay Patel is the CEO of Amtech, and serves as the company’s visionary in all areas from sales to marketing to customer service and production. He worked inside the company throughout high school and college, learning the electronics manufacturing business from the ground up from his father. His understanding of the business helps our customers find the easiest and most cost effective ways to ensure quality products are shipped.

Jay graduated with a BS in Computer Science from Wayne State University, and immediately put those talents to use at Amtech. He developed Amtech’s proprietary ERP system (AmtechOS) from scratch, helping create a path of innovation that the company follows to this day. He’s always focused on taking Amtech to the next level to help the company’s customers and partners, including championing Amtech’s efforts getting ISO 9001 Certification in 2000 while still in college. He currently sits on the IPC’s EMS Management Council Steering Committee where he helps guide the efforts of the association to support businesses like Amtech’s.

Being the scion of a family-owned business, the importance of both family & education remain core pillars in Jay’s life. In fact, it’s so important to him and his family that he and his wife Rucha launched their own school based on the Acton model which is designed for education in the modern world. The two have been married since 2003, and their children Shriya and Yagna have inherited the pair’s curiosity.

Dev Patel is the COO of Amtech, leading the internal structure of the business managing finance, operations and human resources. He literally grew up at Amtech, learning the ins-and-outs of the family-owned business alongside his brother from an early age. Dev has worked in almost every role at the company and is knowledgeable in every process of the company first hand.

After graduating from Wayne State university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems in 1995, he joined the Amtech team full-time. He’s seen all of the challenges of running a manufacturing company, and strives to apply the latest in business management techniques to running the company. It’s his job to make sure everything runs on-time and as-promised, with little to no interruption regardless of what the world throws his way. This skill set helped the company successfully navigate any and all challenges that come its way – from economic volatility in the marketplace to the COVID-19 pandemic with related supply chain issues. Dev has a firm grasp on what it takes to run a business, applying what he learned in school and in life to keeping Amtech moving forward.

Dev has been married to his wife Dr. Dimpi Patel since 2013 and has one energetic child named Ved. He lives not far from the office in the Metro Detroit Area.
